MATTHEW
MILLEN

A Glimpse Into the Video Portfolio
Television documentaries and docu-series, music videos, short films and more...

"Living across all of Canada, you learn to appreciate the small details of the world as you document them through the film medium"

"You come away from every shoot a changed person. You step into another person's point of view and come away with a lesson you wouldn't get anywhere else"

"Don't forget to backup your footage!"

The Face Behind the Camera
Matthew Millen is a Canadian filmmaker, cinematographer, and musician with over 14 years behind the lens directing, shooting, and editing projects for national broadcast networks like Bell Fibe TV1 and organization brands like Canadian Geographic - he is now branching out into scripted comedy development with his own six-part mini-series, Broken Records, slated for release in the future.

Formally trained in both music production and engineering at Metalworks Institute in Mississauga and earning a diploma for Cinematography for Film and Video at Capilano University in North Vancouver, Matt bridges the gap between raw musical energy and cinematic visual craft. Grounded in a musician and film connoisseur perspective, he channels the heavy, unrelenting drive of underground metal, punk, and hardcore and his love for classic and foreign films into his music and his filmmaking— blending atmosphere, and hard hitting nostalgia for the OGs.
Â
Every visual asset, written project, original film score, and standalone music release is conceived, shot, written, and mastered entirely in-house. Whether executing location shoots, in studio high-end productions or crafting heavy soundscapes from the ground up, Matt builds complete, immersive audiovisual worlds driven by precise execution and raw emotion.
